The new GMS drive trains are based around the brand new liquid cooled GMS M1 motor which was specially designed to give outstanding performance when used in lightweight family cars, watercraft or motorcycles. At the heart of this electric car package is a high power controller which is matched to the individual motor and is pre programmed to deliver exceptional flexibility. Although the motor is nominally 18KW, in this configuration this drive train will run continuously at the much higher levels necessary for lightweight vehicles and will deliver exceptional peak power for short periods. GMS motor packages contain all mechanical and electrical components, including our unique designed EMP [encrypted motor profile] embedded controller software.

19 mm coolant hose, coolant and DC cables are not included in our package, but can be made available if required.
( based on using 2.5 meters of 19mm coolant hose, total coolant weight = 2.4 KG) 2.4 litres of Propylene Glycol antifreeze to be used, not Ethylene Glycol. Certified coolant must be used in GMS powertrains to meet warranty requirements. Use of standard Ethylene Glycol will void the warranty, only use Propylene Glycol.

The sensor can not be damaged by exposure to sinusoidal vibration levels of up to 20 g’s over the frequency range of 10 Hz to 1,000 Hz.

Plugs and Sockets

The connector system we use is specifically targeted for off-road and heavy duty industrial applications. These connections are designed to meet the rigorous demands of an industry that requires the highest standards of performance. The connection housings offer a one-piece assembly for both plug and cap which provides protection and durability during cycles. The pins offer a thick and high performance alloy base metal, therefore providing increased strength and resistance to stress relaxation while maintaining current carrying capability. The system has an IP69K rating that allows for flawless operation in the harshest environments. The high protection rating guarantees absolute ingress-resistance, even in applications subject to frequent cleaning processes.

Cooling relay module
The GMS relay module is designed to be a cost effective solution for system cooling regulation. Programmed switching of the pump and fan units from the controller enables optimum cooling performance. The cooling relay module consists of a rugged mounting bracket, component holder as well as incorporating connections for easy system integration.
To avoid problems with interference all the connections between the motor and controller must be no longer than 500mm.
Wiring Loom
Long run wiring loom extensions are not included in the kit : these are quoted per meter separately. Distances from each component device are required. ( Cost is separately calculated based on cable length and type from each component ) For example, cable distance from foot pedal to controller or dashboard to controller. ( Please ask for a component layout measurement diagram, so you can add your cable lengths into the loom specification diagram for a completed loom quotation.)

Motor Tests
Note : Current Limited by controller : Tests indicated ( 32NM 15KW @ 4310 rpm at the shaft ) when using a gear ratio of 1 : 3.75, 150NM or 110.6 foot pounds at the wheel can be obtained. ( Taken from measured output of the motor )

Availability
We currently have a backlog of orders and we are also revising our manufacturing facilities and will not be able to commit to delivery of any new drive train products for three months. (last updated 1st Feb 2012) When we are able to accept more drive train orders we will announce that on the website. As yet we are not in a position to make any firm promises on price, but we are confident that we will then be able to reduce prices significantly for single motors. This lower price will of course be reflected in the complete kit prices. There will also be similar price reductions for the dual powertrain. However, that does not mean we can't make progress. If you could give us some more detail about your application including type of vehicle, design weight, expected performance and tyre size if relevant, we will be in a better position to work out how we can help you.
